Carolina Olivo

Poet & Writer

Welcome!

I'm so glad you're here!

Writing is a way for me to make sense of the world around me, the stories I carry, and the person I'm becoming. As a Dominican-American writer raised in New York, I'm drawn to the complexities of identity, womanhood, faith, migration, and language—and to all the ways our experiences shape who we are.

Through poetry, I explore the spaces between cultures and generations. I'm interested in the things we inherit, the things we leave behind, and the things we're still learning how to put into words.

Whether you're here because something I've written resonates with you or you're simply curious to learn more about my work, I'm happy you're here.

Welcome to my world. I'm glad we found each other.

My Writing

I write about what we carry across borders and what gets left behind: language, family, home, and the weight of belonging to more than one place. My debut collection, Residual Immigrant: In Between Pride and Grief, is seeking publication.
